Fun on the Fourth

We had such a great 4th of July this year - it is one of Josh and I's most favorite holidays. I love everything about it - warm weather, food, festivities, the colors, being patriotic, fireworks, and best of all, the feeling that you still have the whole summer ahead of you. Anyway, below are a couple pics of the night before of the boys in their festive pjs.

So excited for the 4th!

Love that face

As always, in the morning we loaded the boys into our decorated wagon for the neighborhood parade. It's so cute to see all the kids but kinda funny b/c everyone is IN the parade, so really there is no one to watch it.

A mischievious smile

Owen still not in the mood for pics, this is the best family photo we could get

So patriotic!

All-American boys

After our neighborhood festivities, we headed up to Newport to spend the day on the bay with several of our friends and their kids. Lots of time playing in the sand, drinking margaritas, watching the boat parade, and enjoying the sun!
Gavin and Owen being boys - digging and playing with trucks

Ally and Colton

Dad and Owen "surfing"

Almost looks like he is waiting for the perfect wave - such a beach boy

Rylee and Owen

Rylee, Owen and Gavin thinking they are pretty cool in the golf cart - love that you can't even see Gavin's face above the steering wheel

After a long day at the beach, Scott and Ally were nice enough to make everyone dinner. Nothing says the 4th like burgers, fries and strawberry shortcake - yum! After dinner we took the boat out to watch the fireworks.
This is Owen sleeping on the boat, in his life jacket and all. He didn't take a nap all day, and fell asleep right in the middle of the firework show.

Colton couldn't quite make it either. Such a fun day for everyone!
